Content Submission
Articles, code samples, and tech tips can only be submitted using the submission form. Once you have submitted the form your post will be live. In order to make sure the post is formatted properly please follow these guidelines.
Type of Submission
Tech Tips:
Tech tips are shorter in nature and typically deal with a single concept - i.e. bite size nuggets of useful content to help improve the use of a tool or technology.
Code Samples:
Code samples are not a complete program but lines of logic that show how to perform a particular task or solve a particular problem. Code samples must be complete functions or statements that someone could drop into a program and immediately use. Code samples should include a short summary of the particular task or problem that the code sample solves with their submission.
Articles:
Articles are broader in scope and longer than tech tips. Typically they contain either how-to content or an overview of a technology or area of expertise. Each contains an introduction, description of a problem or topic, a solution if appropriate, and a conclusion. An article can also be similar to a tutorial.
How To Write A Headline That Gets Read
Content Type
There are three selections for content type. You must choose the best selection for your tech tip, code sample or article so that it will be formatted properly.
text/plain - This type will be formatted according to the whitespace and line breaks embedded within it. This is best for posts that have no code. However, it will only allow plain text so you will not be able to specify a hyperlink.
text/html – Selecting this format will allow you to include HTML tags in your formatting. For example, paragraphs should be in "<p>...</p>" blocks. Allowed tags are:
<a href="http[s]://...">...</a>
<a href="http[s]://..." title="...">...</a>
<a title="..." href="http[s]://...">...</a>
<i>...</i>
<b>...</b>
<u>...</u>
<ol>...</ol>
<ul>...</ul>
<li>...</li>
<p>...</p>
<br>...</br>
<h1>...</h1>
<h2>...</h2>
<h3>...</h3>
<h4>...</h4>
<tt>...</tt>
<code>...</code>
text/plain + markup - This format is similar to the "text/plain" one, but with the exception that hyperlinks can be defined using these HTML tags:
<a href="http[s]://...">...</a>
<a href="http[s]://..." title="...">...</a>
<a title="..." href="http[s]://...">...</a>
